KENWOOD AND GARMIN TEAM UP FOR UNPRECEDENTED JOINT PROMOTION
Long Beach, CA, (May 28, 2008) - Kenwood USA Corporation has teamed up with Garmin International to jointly promote Kenwood’s new navigation-embedded in-dash electronics lineup for 2008. The promotion, titled “Entertainment by Kenwood, Guidance by Garmin,” was created for the primary purpose of driving consumer floor traffic to authorized Kenwood retailers.
“This exclusive alliance between Kenwood and Garmin has been a success because we are leaders in our respective fields,” said Keith Lehmann, Kenwood’s Senior Vice President for Consumer Electronics. “Now that we have firmly established a premium position in the installed-navigation market, the next step is to educate the public that the best in-car navigation systems are available only at authorized Kenwood retailers.”
At the center of the campaign is an instant $100 consumer rebate, available for a limited time on the DNX8120, DNX7120, DNX5120, P-NAV512 and KNA-G510. All models are now available.
Along with the $100 consumer rebate, the promotion also includes a radio campaign. A professionally-produced radio ad with a 15-second dealer tag at the end is available to all participating Kenwood dealers as part of a complete promotion kit. The kit also includes print ad templates, Web banner ad examples and in-store POP such as a hanging mobile and various on-display tags. A CD-ROM containing the radio ad as well as electronic-versions of all artwork and logos is included in the promotion kit.
A “micro-Website” is also being created to educate dealers and consumers on the many benefits of the Kenwood/Garmin approach to in-dash navigation systems. “Installed systems can maximize the entire navigation/entertainment experience,” said Lehmann. “The micro Website will show the ergonomic and performance advantages of the Kenwood entertainment system as well as the highly-developed, intuitive benefits of the Garmin navigation software.”
