Kenwood Factory Presented Manufacturing Excellence Award (MAXA) for Innovation
(Suwanee, GA) Kenwood USA Corp., Communications Sector, announces that Kenwood Electronics Technologies Singapore (KETS), the Singapore factory of Kenwood Corporation was a finalist for the second consecutive year at the MAXA 2007 event and received the Innovation Award. MAXA (Manufacturing Excellence Award) is organized by the Singapore Economic Development Board with partners McKinsey & Company and the Singapore-MIT Alliance.
MAXA was launched in 2006 to recognize exceptional manufacturing operations located in Singapore. Facilities are evaluated on innovation, excellence in operating systems and sustainability of innovation and excellence. In recognizing the Kenwood Electronics Technologies Singapore (KETS) facility, the judges noted “many years of high-quality and innovative development of radio equipment.”
Kenwood USA’s 180, 170, 160 and ProTalk Series radios are manufactured in the KETS Singapore facility. “This award is proof that Kenwood has attained high levels worthy of international recognition in all aspects of its business, including qualitative reliability as a manufacturer, development capabilities and initiatives in dealing with environmental issues”, said Mark Jasin, Vice President and General Manager, Kenwood USA Corporation.
