Title: Order Processor

BASIC PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the National Sales Administration Manager follows established procedures and performs a series of clerical tasks. Coordinates functions associated with the receipt, data entry, and processing of sales orders to ensure expeditious order placement and shipment.

Major Duties:

  • Receives sales order by phone and mail, including quantity, shipping address, and special routing details, and clarifies product specifications and delivery.
  • Places sales order, using computer terminal, and quotes prices to customers if requested.
  • Processes all return authorizations and orders related to RA’s (replacement orders).
  • Maintains contacts with customers to resolve shipment or carrier problems, order discrepancies.
  • Advise Inside Sales Representatives and Regional Sales Managers when product shortages occur to assist in resolving customer concerns.
  • Responsible for maintaining all filing required to assist with order tracking.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma/G.E.D. or 4 years work experience in directly related work environment.
  • Requires 1-2 years of clerical and customer service work experience.
  • Possess the skill to operate personal & mainframe computers and related office equipment.
  • 1 year in a customer service work environment and possess effective customer relations skills and be able to expeditiously resolve problems associated with customer orders.

Working Relationships:

Title: Desktop Support Coordinator
Location: Long Beach, CA

Principle Responsibilities and Job Functions:

Reporting to the System Administration Manager, is responsible to ensure that desktop PCs, laptop PCs, and printers are properly installed, configured and maintained, and that users are properly trained in their operation. This then increases productivity and reduces downtime.

Major Duties:

  1. Deploys and configures new desktop and laptop PCs, including operating systems, utilities, monitoring tools, application software, and printing.
  2. Answers PC/Network Help Desk calls, providing assistance to users when possible, and if necessary, collecting information for escalating user issues to other IT staff.
  3. Troubleshoots and resolves problems with PC hardware, operating systems, application software, printers, and peripherals.
  4. Plans and implements new/upgraded hardware and software roll outs, or other projects as assigned by manager.
  5. Performs repairs and upgrades, including hard disk swaps, RAM upgrades and expansion card installs.
  6. Trains users in proper use of PC and network resources, including home directories, backups, email, shared directories, printing, security policies, and changing passwords.
  7. Installs, configures and tests network printers and print servers.
  8. Maintains user accounts, including creation, deletion, security modifications, and email; following established procedures and documentation.
  9. Deals with approved vendors in making IT purchases, negotiating with them as necessary.
  10. Documents desktop hardware, software, and printing configurations.
  11. Maintains and controls asset and inventory of all IT equipment.
  12. Periodic travel to support remote business including, but not limited to, remote offices, tradeshows, and 3rd party partners.

Knowledge and Skills:

Diagnoses PC and network problems, finding solutions or escalating issues to the Systems Administrators or Programmers, as required. Exercises judgment in determining cause of problems and providing reasonable solutions.

Works in a general office environment. Title: Technical Support Specialist – LMR
Location: Long Beach, CA

Basic Purpose and Principle Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Communications Technical Support Manager, will provide technical information and diagnostic support with respect to the repair and maintenance of Kenwood Land Mobile products.

Major Duties:

  1. Provide Technical Support to end users, dealers, service centers, manufacturers sales representatives, sales staff, Order Desk and Tuning personnel. Technical Support consists of:
    • Explanation of product features, functions and specifications found in brochures, manuals and help screens.
    • Explanation of product programming, variations of programming to meet end user custom requirements, and troubleshooting programming data file problems. Variations of programming and troubleshooting are self taught based on experience with the product and the software.
    • Explanation of product configurations based on labor instructions and manuals.
    • Explanation of product compatibility with other manufacturer’s products such as our transceiver and someone else’s repeater and controller. This knowledge comes from hands on experience.
    • Troubleshooting our product to component level using test equipment. Also explaining trouble shooting techniques to service personnel as they call for help with difficult repairs. Troubleshooting techniques and knowledge are based on circuit theory courses and hands on experience.
    • Troubleshoot entire systems for issues such as RF interference caused by improper installation or cabling and interference caused by inherent frequency combinations. This knowledge comes from circuit theory courses and hands on experience.
  2. Duplicate and report potential quality issues with Kenwood communications products.
    • Based on customer complaint, determine if a potential quality issue needs to be addressed.
    • Access failure analysis information and check database for tendencies with other customers. Collect all information required to duplicate the quality issue.
    • Using the product and test equipment duplicate the problem or using statistics, provide evidence of a potential quality issue.
    • Create and issue a Quality Report to the Manager of the Department.
    • Test potential solutions offered from Communications QA in Japan. Determine if the solution works for the customer, works for most customers, and does not create additional and sometimes hidden issues with the product.
  3. Travel to trade shows, travel to dealer locations to administer training (part time) and travel to dealer and customer locations for troubleshooting purposes.
    • Technically represent Kenwood at trade shows. Provide answers to questions related to features, functions, specifications, and compatibility.
    • When the training schedule is too full, assist trainers by traveling to dealer and end user locations to present product information in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.
    • Work with end users and dealers to collect data, duplicate issues, and correct issues related to our product and entire system.
  4. Continually study new technologies in order to maintain a professional level of education on today’s products.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • AA degree in electronics or 4 years of technical experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
  • 4 years of knowledge in circuit theory and troubleshooting techniques.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Kenwood and competitor products.
  • Analytical skills to troubleshoot, test and repair as well as to determine when potential quality issues may be present in Kenwood products.
  • Knowledge of EIA/TIA measurement standards and Military Standards for driven rain and vibration procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic IP configurations.
  • Experience with RF test equipment and soldering equipment.
  • Hand skills to use soldering equipment and common hand tools such as tweezers, screwdrivers, and needle nose pliers.
  • Customer relations experience and skills.

Working Relationships:

Reports to Communications Tech Support Manager with daily interaction with dealer accounts, self-servicing end users and manufacturer’s sales representatives. Interacts moderately with repair depots, Sales, Order Desk, and Tuning personnel.

Problem Solving and Descision Making:

  • Corrects end user and dealer misinterpretations of product features, functions, and specifications.
  • Decides when product is working, is broken and in need of repair, or contains a potential quality issue that requires factory correction.
  • Handles end user and dealer disputes related to warranty and repair.
  • Handles end user and dealer complaints related to Order Desk and Tuning Department mistakes or misinformation.
  • Intervenes between repair depots and dealers to authorize special repairs or unique requests.

Working Conditions:

Works in general maintenance environment. Some travel by air and automobile.

Title: R&D Engineer, Radio Software

Basic Purpose and Principle Responsibilities:

Reporting to Senior R&D Engineer-Software Development and R&D Manager, responsible for writing and modifying existing code for embedded controllers. Handle major and minor software projects from inception to completion as recommended by Product Manager or Yokohama Engineering as directed by the Senior R&D Engineer and R&D Manager.

Major Duties:

Job Description

Responsible for development and sales performance of assigned products, markets and territories either directly to end user target markets or along with established sales channel (dealers & representatives). Job Description

Reporting to the Sr. Systems Engineer for Kenwood USA Corporation’s Communications Sector, Systems Division. Liaison between field sales, production and engineering teams; work with field sales to develop the customer’s specifications and the winning technical system designs.  Develop technical and system design strategies to differentiate from the competition.

Major Duties:

  • Attend pre-bid meetings to understand end user requirements.
  • Attend post-bid meetings to support system design.
  • Develop and present pre-sale technical material to support the sales team.
  • Produce technical narratives to support proposals and bid specifications.
  • Develop system diagrams and propagation studies.

  • This position requires a minimum of a two year accredited ASEE or ASET degree or its technical training and experience equivalent, general class FCC license preferred.
  • 3-5 years System design experience; knowledge of RF communications products, solutions, with systems experience in mobile radio networks. Extensive hands on experience and strong problem solving skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license, and a valid US passport.
  • This position requires advanced knowledge of computers and their proper operation using company-provided applications such as Microsoft Office, and Visio as well as programming software and communication utility software.

Deal with challenges with a positive and forward approach. Make decisions and set expectations that are in the best interest of the company. Mitigate customer satisfaction issues utilizing a variety of company resources as required

Working Relationships
Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer, will interact with Company departments such as administration, finance, and collaborate with R & D, LMR regional managers, marketing, and service. Communicate and foster existing relationships with manufacturer representatives, after market vendors, and dealers. Maintain contact with clients to ensure a high level of satisfaction.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a general office and light assembly environment.
  • Travel required for business meetings, trade shows, customer visits and system installation sites.
  • Duties and responsibilities performed do not include special physical requirements. Regular use and exposure to computer and electronic test equipment.
