Major Duties: - Read/Write Programs, Tuning Specs, and Upgrades Radios, modification, assembly, and packaging of Land Mobile Radios prior to shipping to customers, pack, unpack and attach specific labels to the tuned product.
- QC Tuned Products to ensure adherence to established quality standards, QC returned products by customers before repairing or refurbishing.
- Reports to Management any and all malfunctions or technical problems of the units.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment, maintains daily order logs of shipments.
- Work from Labor Instructions, verbal instructions and/or supervised guidance.
- Ensure only the highest quality and neatness in all modification, assembly, and packaging tasks. Maintain a clean, safe working environment with professional appearance.
- Safely and efficiently operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers and cutters, heat shrink guns, soldering irons, crimping tools, and power tools such as electric screwdrivers in the normal day-to-day course of activities.
- Safely and efficiently operate electronic test equipment such as communication service monitors, volt-ohmmeters, wattmeters, SINAD meters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, pulse generators, power supplies, test adaptors and related equipment in the normal day-to-day course of activities.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations as established by industry standards such as OSHA and Kenwood USA Corporation Safety Policies. Immediately notify supervisor of any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions, activities or situations; immediately stop work rather than risk personal health, safety or damage to equipment.
- Perform all other duties as needed, assigned by supervisors, and as required to enhance and further the activities and goals of the company. Overtime may be required for this position.
Knowledge and Skills: - Requires 1 year knowledge of Electronics or equivalent experience and at least 1 year experience in modification, assembly, and packaging of electronics.
- This position requires knowledge and the proficient use of the various hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment as listed above.
- This position requires the operation of materials management equipment i.e., pallet jacks, carts, and box knives. Employee shall operate such equipment in a safe, professional and cautious manner.
- This position requires proficient knowledge of computers and their proper operation using company-provided applications such as Microsoft Office as well as programming software and communication utility software.
- Knowledge of LMR (Land Mobile Radio) products preferred.
- This position requires a high school diploma or certificate of equivalency.
Working Relationships: Interact with all company departments to complete Tuning Orders for customers, inventory control, and operational tasks as needed. Problem Solving And Decision Making: - Maintain efficient materials and consumables flow, schedule assembly and test tasks to match system fabrication requirements.
- Operates with advanced electronic troubleshooting skills, routinely troubleshoots and identifies electronic problems to the component level.
- Routinely identifies interference and intermodulation problems in equipment and systems whether in-house during fabrication and test or in the field, onsite at customers’ locations.
Working Conditions: - Works in a general technical manufacturing and test facility environment.
- Duties normally require excellent manual dexterity and soldering skills, bending, reaching, pushing and heavy lifting.
- Works with electronic test equipment and power sources, some of which may have high voltage and/or high electrical current hazards.
- Works with RF equipment which may result in exposure to non-ionizing radiation and/or RF burn hazards.

Working Relationships: Reports to IT Manager. Performs delegated tasks from IT Manager and Systems Administrators. Forwards issues to Systems Administrators and Programmers as necessary. Provides assistance to all network and PC users. Problem Solving and Decision Making
Diagnoses PC and network problems, finding solutions or escalating issues to the Systems Administrators or Programmers as required. Exercises judgment in determining cause of problems and identifying correct IT staff members to review and resolve them. Working Conditions: Works in a general office environment. - Must have experience in tone and D.C. remote control, trunking logic controllers, conventional repeater controllers; CAD systems and consoles, GPS Automatic Vehicle Location equipment and systems is desirable.
- Must have experience interfacing tone signaling, digital ANI encoder/decoders and voice encryption boards, peripheral equipment.
- Must have experience in performing technical analysis, reporting, documenting, writing technical procedures, bulletins, instruction sheets, manuals and application notes.
- • Experience in mobile data systems such as; mobile data terminals, mobile personal computers and applications software, radio modems, mobile data peripheral equipment, repeater data controllers and host system interfaces is desirable. Associate of Science Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience required. Amateur radio license desirable.
Working Relationships Reports to the R&D Manager. Interacts with engineering staff, product manager, technical support staff, service training staff, tuning department, parts department, dealers, end-users, manufacturer representatives, suppliers and vendors. Problem Solving and Decision Making: Must be detailed oriented with the ability to professionally relate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
